Iets meer dan de helft hiervan heeft een niet-Westerse achtergrond, dit zijn voornamelijk mensen uit Turkije, Marokko, Indonesi\u00eb, Suriname en de Nederlandse Antillen. Buiten deze bevolkingsgroepen zijn er iets meer dan een half miljoen inwoners uit niet-westerse landen. Voor een groot deel gaat het om vluchtelingen en asielzoekers. Het is belangrijk om open te staan voor deze verschillen. Zo leer je elkaar beter begrijpen en voorkom je misverstanden. Dit maakt het makkelijker om samen te werken en respect te hebben voor elkaar, zowel in je schooltijd als later in je leven.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Cultuur: Wat maakt ons anders?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nederland is een multicultureel land. Zo\u2019n 23% van de inwoners heeft een migratieachtergrond, wat betekent dat ze of hun ouders uit een ander land komen. Voor sommige kinderen zijn feestdagen heel belangrijk omdat ze verbonden zijn met hun cultuur en geloof. Niet iedereen gelooft hetzelfde, en dat is ok\u00e9! Het is belangrijk om elkaar te respecteren, ongeacht het geloof. Misschien komen je vrienden uit een gezin dat gelovig is, en misschien zijn ze heel trots op hun geloof.
